Excel Gurus!

To all Excel MVP’s, bloggers, authors, pros, or smartest-excel-wizard in your office:

March 25-31, 2012 is going to be “VLOOKUP Week” and I am inviting you to participate.

Are you familiar with Shark Week on the Discovery Channel? For the last 25 years, they have dedicated one week to shows about sharks. One of the cool things about Shark Week on the Discovery Channel is that all the shows participate. From Mythbusters to Dirty Jobs, everyone checks in with an episode related to Sharks for shark week. I invite you to participate in VLOOKUP Week by doing one blog post, video, article during March 25 – 31 and posting it on your website or blog. Let us know about it and we will add a link to your article in the vlookupweek.wordpress.com blog so we can help drive traffic to your site.

To help, we have some collateral materials. Here are some graphics that you are free to use:

VLookup Week Shark - 250x102

We also have a zip file with 5 different sizes [from 100px width to 800px width] that you may download here

There is also a VLookup Week Micro-Jingle download link that we are offering; you download the zip file, choose the version you like and then use it in a video post if you choose. You may listen to a sample of the jingle [VLookup Week Jingle ] now.

What’s in it for you?

  •  Have some fun
  • Drive traffic to your site
  • If you have a VLOOKUP product (book on formulas, utility that eases vlookup, a t-shirt), let us know and we will add it to the products page.
  • I will send a VLOOKUP WEEK 2012 coffee mug to the first 30 people who participate.
  • Maybe 100 people will get better at VLOOKUP and this will start a snowball effect to rescue the economic crisis.
  • Ummm, did I say to “Have some fun”?

What’s in it for me?

  • Have some fun
  • Win a bet with a co-worker that there are many people to whom VLOOKUP Week would be a fascinating topic.
  • Maybe 100 people will get better at VLOOKUP and this will start a snowball effect to rescue the economic crisis.

What if you don’t have a website or blog but want to write an article?

  • No problem – we will post you as a guest-poster in this blog. Shoot a note to scott at mrexcel dot com.

Won’t a dozen articles on VLOOKUP be identical and boring?

  • NO! Everyone has their own take on VLOOKUP. Secret tricks. Methods. Here are just a few of the topics you could cover:
